Start with the right attitude! Point the finger!

Some time ago the book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People was very popular. This was/is a great book, and at that time it was a popular read for those in the corporate world. After hearing how great this book was, how life transforming it could be, I decided to come up with my own rules...only my rules address how to be ineffective! I am an original and creative thinker and like share my knowledge for free. So while my rules may not be as popular as Stephen Covey's they are free!

Okay, are you ready to become really good at being a total loser and destined never to succeed in life? Well I am going to give you the rules that have worked for me in my life!

1. Pass the Buck (no not the deer!).

I think this is an important rule to start with. After all, you and I know you really are a total loser and can't make anything work so accept the truth and deal with it in a mature way by blaming everybody else for your shortcomings, faults, ruin, zits, etc.

2. File it in file #13.

You know you are never going to pay those bills, complete the assignment, save the world so just stuff it in a file folder in a dusty drawer and...(wait till you see number 4!)

3. Procrastinate!

If rule number 2 is discovered then just practice the art of procrastination! Do everything else like filing your nails, watching the paint peel, making beleive you are a cat and blogging all day but whatever you do don't get your work done!

4. Bury it!

You know that saying about don't put off for tomorrow what you can do today? Well I changed that saying to "If it doesn't get done today it never will" so just ignore those pesky little chores like washing clothes, going to work and cooking dinner. Let others do the work.

5. Forget about it!

Yes this is similar to number 4 with a slight twist. You aren't consciously burying it, you are just setting it out of your mind (like in the basement underneath the furnace!) and hoping that you will never remember it again!

6. Take a break every hour!

You deserve it because these rules were hard to come up with!

7. You may need to repeat steps 1-6 to get really good at it!

Sometimes being effective can be such a bad habit that you may have to repeat these steps over and over again until you reprogram that efficient mind of yours!

Please don't call me for suggestions. I am totally ineffective and have given you the most deep wisdom that exists in my little mind!

How Ineffective are You?

Do you always forget to do the following things?

  • Getting up in the morining
  • Getting dressed in the morning
  • Getting to work in the morning
  • Getting actual work done
  • Forgetting to pay the rent, light, mortgage, your mother
  • Forgetting to take the dog, cat, lizard, husband out at night to go potty
  • Leaving your purse, wallet, valuables, family jewels in your unlocked car

I was going to comment to this earlier, but first I forgot, then I had a break, and finally it just took me a while to get round to it...

Thanks Elena! I have to confess I was making fun of being a perfectionist in this post. Seeing the funny side of every situation helps me live life and let go of having to do things perfectly. or of trying to control the outcome! As we all know control is an illusion!
